$10,000 Grant Revives Valley View Elementary Garden

The Las Cruces Public Schools Nutrition Services Department has received a $10,000 grant from the Sprouts Foundation to support child nutrition initiatives. The funding will be used to revitalize the school garden at Valley View Elementary, allowing students to learn about healthy eating habits.
Through this program, students will engage in hands-on activities such as harvesting fruits and vegetables, while also gaining knowledge about sustainable agriculture and the importance of nature. The initiative aims to promote social and emotional development by fostering a sense of place and belonging among the students.
