Las Cruces Debuts Mini Solid Waste Truck "Little Grabby"
Staff Report / LasCruceslocal.org
Las Cruces Utilities has introduced a new mini solid waste truck named "Little Grabby." The name was chosen through a competition held by the City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation's Weed and Seed Program in April at the A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven. A third grader named Milah Lee submitted the winning name, "Grabby," which the Utilities staff modified to include "Little" in honor of retired LCU Board member William Little.
Milah received a certificate and a prize bag as recognition for her contribution. The new truck is specifically designed to service older neighborhoods with narrow streets, facilitating trash collection in these areas. Residents are encouraged to watch for Little Grabby as it works throughout the community.
